I have something important to post but I suppose I should wait until Monday since no one is around on the weekend.
It involves Disney.

When I was a little kid my father used to bring me over to my grandmothers house on weekends and one of my favorite things to do over there was play The Mephisto Waltz on her giant organ, not the composition by Franz Listz, but rather the 1971 movie staring Alan Alda who becomes possessed by a dying concert pianist. I'd make a bunch of noise on the keyboard then slowly raise my hands in front of my face and stare at them in horror, just like in the movie.

Golden Girl passes away
Bea Arthur, the tall, deep-voiced actress whose razor-sharp delivery of comedy lines made her a TV star in the hit shows "Maude" and "The Golden Girls" and who won a Tony Award for the musical "Mame," died Saturday. She was 86.

This is the second time Fetch Deliveries has broken our gate, without an apology (they deliver pet food and cat litter, etc). How hard is it to open and close a stupid gate? The first time they broke the latch from slamming it too hard. That was last winter and I couldn't fix it until it warmed up because I had to use wood glue so we had a bent coat hanger holding it closed. I just fixed the latch a couple weeks ago then those bastards ripped it right off the hinges. again with no apology.

Parkway Dental

These are my teeth. I think they look pretty good, except for the two that are missing. I just got back from the dentist and they suggested I stop eating so many sweets (how did they know?) and start flossing regularly. I've been hearing this since I was a kid but I never listen. I love my dentist and everyone that works there. It's a nice calm place and everyone is super nice.

Chances are people you don't even know are being introduced to your journal every day, either randomly or through someone else. In addition to recent entries, people can get to know you better by what you posted in the past. With that in mind post a link to your entries on this day three months ago, six months ago, nine months ago, a year ago, and two years ago. If there was no entry on that day, link the closest date.

Dear Mr. Jamison, I love soaps from Hydra soaps, however, their soaps are always so oversized that I cannot fit them into my soap container, I was wondering if it's ok to melt the soap in the microwave and and change the shape of it, since all I care is the great scent they have. Thanks, Pauline
------------------------------------------
Hi Pauline! Many soaps contain metals or metal oxides as colorants. These metals will cause severe problems in the microwave. I have not been able to find any information concerning Hydra soaps, so I can't say whether they contain metals. You might want to contact the manufacturer and ask them if it would be safe to melt their soaps in the microwave. On the other side, it will not harm the soap to melt it. You might want to try grating it or cutting it into small pieces and melting it in a double boiler. This would be a safe procedure. This might affect the scent, however. You might find that it looses some of its strength, or it might even change the scent. I'm sorry that I can't be more help to you. I hope this will at least point you in the right direction. Have a Great Day! Mr. Jamison

Bye Bye Bourbon
Christopher kindly tolerating my drunken buffoonery.
I recently read an article in the City Pages about a downtown restaurant called Bradstreet Crafthouse on the first floor of the Graves hotel. One thing that caught my interest was the fact that they mostly use rye whiskey for their drinks. Apparently this was the type of whiskey most popular before the prohibition. If anyone were to mention rye whiskey before this week I usually would have pictured old alcoholic grandpas and grizzled hobos.
On a recent trip to Hennepin Lake Liquor Store I purchased a bottle of Jim Beam rye (80 proof) to satisfy my curiosity. The first thing I noticed was that it didn't give me the "icky-face" upon the first sip of my drink (rye & coke). Since I usually drink bourbon (Jack Danials) that's what I was comparing it to. Jack & Coke has a carmel taste. It's pretty dessert-y whereas the Jim Beam rye had more of a vanilla/sugar cane taste. The true test came when I offered Desiree a drink (she usually hates whiskey) and she ended up having three!
A couple days later I bought a bottle of Wild Turkey (101 proof) and again mixed it with Coke. I think I like it better. It has a more sophisticated and complex taste. It's more peppery but still plenty sweet.

So I never did buy any Ouzo or Crystal Head vodka. Instead I popped open a bottle of champaign (sparkling wine) my roommate had given me a while back and watched the TimeLife infomercial for their Classic Soft Rock collection. Ahhhh, what a way to spend a Saturday night. I could only stomach two little glasses before I poured the rest down the kitchen sink. I hate wine, I always have and always will. I'd rather sip dirty bathwater from a...... I don't know, something gross. I'm tired.
Oh and I didn't eat Gummi bears with the champaign sparkling wine, I ate cheese. Because that's what your supposed to eat with wine, right? See, I knew that cuz I'm klassy.

Just got done watching My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I like this movie a lot. John Corbett is a douchbag but that Nia Vardalos, Mmm-mmmm. I'd like to bend her over a barrel of olives.
In the movie they were drinking Ouzo so of course now I want some. On second thought, no. Maybe some of that Crystal Skull Vodka vnsplshr was talking about.
Or not.

Anyone know where I can find this brand of Gummi bears? I found these at my aunts and ate half the bag. I love 'em! Problem is she said she bought them on clearance at Lunds before they re-arranged the isles. They don't carry this brand any more.
